Besides blowing glass and making great hand crafted Christmas ornaments our family is Musicial. We have two sons, Robert, 16 and Tyler 14. Robert plays the alto and tenor saxophone in High School band and Tyler the Trumpet. We are working with Tyler to play the Mandolin. We have a few dates lined up at local senior centers and churches and festivals this summer in Michigan.

We call our band "The Sunshine String Band". We'd like to think we bring a little sunshine to people's lives. When Grant and Kim play without Robert, we are known as "Two for the Road". Beginning in July 2004, Kim began a program on local cable access MCTV, called

"Musical Sunshine". This Program is on weekly, every Wednesday at 2:00 pm on channel 3 and at 7:30 Pm on channel 15.  The first few programs featured Kim and her band and Linda Martin on vocals and Mandolin. In Sept. Leo Vargason, a fiddler from Homosassa Florida, who turned 90 in April, was featured and interviewed. He has a soft covered book called

"Yarns of Western Ways" a book filled with short stories he wrote for  the Colorado Ledger in Colorado in the 1960's.  He comes up to Michigan, his home was in Onaway, and had his short stories book available for sale. I will try to get an excerpt available on line. If you email me, I can send the address to get this unique book. It is $15.00 including shipping.
